Verity Browning

Verity Browning writes the Cresthollow Bay Mysteries: small-town crime novels in the British tradition, warm and witty and dark without being grim.

They live within walking distance of cold water, take an excessive interest in regional archives, and are on cordial but cautious terms with the local seabird population. They believe the best beach reads have a body count, that every clue should be visible on the first read, and that the right small town is, properly considered, an entire moral universe.

Their debut novel, The Blueprint Murder, is out now. The second Cresthollow Bay Mystery is in the works.

They are also, more recently and with some reluctance, on Bluesky as @veritybrowning.bsky.social.
